Frequently asked questions

Can I freeze my soup?

Yes. Make sure it’s completely cooled down before you freeze it (like 12 hours in the fridge). If it’s not completely cooled down, the soup will expand when you freeze it and the cover will pop off. Trust us, we’ve done it.

How do I reheat my soup?

Put the soup in a saucepan on the stove on low/medium heat. Stir the soup while you reheat it so it doesn’t burn. You can also reheat it in the microwave (I don’t recommend heating it in the microwave in the plastic container, I would transfer it to a glass or ceramic bowl). If the soup is frozen and in the plastic quart container, run it under hot water so the soup releases from the plastic. Follow reheating instructions, just pay closer attention if it’s on the stove, it will need more time and more stirring to make sure it doesn’t burn.

Can I freeze the bread?

Yes. Put the loaf in a ziplock type bag and freeze it. When you’re ready to use it again, put it in a warm oven (@250 degrees) for 20 minutes. If you want to use it as toast, slice it before you freeze it and put it into a ziplock type bag and take out the slices as you need them.

Do you use local ingredients? Is it organic?

We try to use as many local and/or organic ingredients as we can. We source some of our ingredients from a farm in Wisconsin and some from the local farmers markets.

Are your soups/breads gluten free?

It depends on which type of soup. All of them are labeled if they are gluten free (or not). The bread is not gluten free.

Do your soups have meat/animal products in them?

There is no meat in our soups. We use dairy and eggs in some of our soups and those are labeled “vegetarian”. If there are no dairy and/or eggs in a soup, it is labeled vegan. We hear some folks add meat to their soups at home and that’s ok with us, we’re big fans of customizing your soups.

What’s the difference between vegetarian and vegan?

Vegetarian means there is dairy (milk, cream, buttermilk) and/or eggs in the ingredient list. Vegan means that there are no animal products in the ingredient list.

I’m allergic to nuts, wheat, garlic, etc, how do I know if your soups/bread contain it?

If you have an allergy concern, please email us to double check allergen information. We label common allergens, but understand there will be additional questions that pop up.

How many servings of soup is in a quart?

It depends on how hungry you are. One quart would be two big bowls of soup or 3-4 little bowls. Unless you are a teenager, then a quart is one serving 😀

Do you sell soup & bread on other days of the week (besides Sundays)?

Not yet but we hope to expand and offer it on more days and maybe in other cities!

Can you ship soup and bread to me?

Not yet but we are looking into it in the future.
